Job Summary: Responsible for successful coordination and management of projects under the
guidance, assistance, and mentorship from Project Managers.
Principal responsibilities: Under the guidance of Project Management.
Project Turn Over:
- Participate in Project Turn Over from Estimating to Operations.
- Follow up with written notes to PM from turn over.
- Establish Project Specific Duties as directed by Project Management.
- Assist in the review of project specific specifications.
- Assist in the job-site visits to determine site conditions, logistical and installation requirements.
- Act as a liaison between PM and Coordinator if applicable.
Prepare for Project:
- Assist in the decision making process for systems/materials.
- Familiarize yourself with all working drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
- Act as liaison between PM and vendors/suppliers.
- Prepare for Project Folder.
- Provide CAD department with all applicable information to include CAD Files from design team,
also coordinate any CAD via vendor/supplier. - Set up project email address with IT, provide list of personnel as directed by PM.
Manage Project:
- Assist in the preparation of MS Project Schedule.
- Attend jobsite meetings. Take meeting notes and review with PM.
- Place material orders (under the guidance of the PM).
- Assist in preparing purchase order.
- Assist in creating RFI’s.
- Attend internal review meetings. Take notes and review with PM.
- Assist in preparing profitable change orders.
- Manage and document all communication.
- Manage field daily reports. File in the job folder.
- Manage all labor tracking. Submit weekly reports to PM.
- Maintain all project logs.
- Manage damage free sign off.
Completion of Project:
- Review with PM and provide Contract Administration with all required information.
- Oversee close out process.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Assist and attend any final change order negotiations.
- Manager Punchlist.
General Task:
- Assist in preparing JPR reporting twice every month.
- Attend and take notes for monthly JPR meetings.
- Assist in preparing monthly billing reports.
- Assist in approval process of invoices.
- Establish and maintain good relationships with customers and vendors.
Skills:
- Have excellent interpersonal relations skills for clear and concise communication for interaction
as a Project Engineer in adapting to an audience or an individual. - Have the ability to effectively and efficiently manage time and associated responsibilities.
- Have familiarity of the construction industry necessary for interpreting and responding
accordingly as it correlates to projects and organizational processes. - Have above average knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft Office software.
- Have familiarity of PM processes and demonstrate abilities.
- Basic knowledge of Sage 300.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strategic thinking.
- Problem analysis and problem solving.
- Sound judgement and good decision making practices.
- General knowledge of Bluebeam.
Qualifications:
Minimum: High School Diploma and (5) years’ experience in an operational support role; in addition to
general knowledge and dedication to learning all aspects of the glazing industry OR Construction
Management Degree.
